Frequently Asked Questions

I am always happy to meet up with clients to discuss a project in person, but I know this is not always possible.

We will need to discuss a few things before we start, but this can easily be done with a phone call at a time that suits you.

My work is custom-built to meet your objectives and your customers’ needs. I am happy to discuss your budget to achieve them.

As a general guide, a startup brochure-style website is from £700, a medium brochure-style website is from £1,000 and an eCommerce website is from £1,500.

This varies depending on your exact requirements. Some projects can take a few months while others a few weeks. Once we have discussed your project, I will give you an idea of how long the project will take.

Web hosting is the service that keeps your website online, and it’s an important consideration for any successful online business. Your website needs a reliable, affordable and dependable host.

I offer Linux-based cloud hosting with SSL for speed, security and performance and it is suitable for WordPress. Email accounts are protected with anti-virus scanning and anti-spam filtering. The costs are £12/month for a brochure-style site and £20/month for an eCommerce site.

Conditions of Use ensure a safe, secure and reliable hosting environment.

Yes, absolutely. I work with a trusted copywriter with a range of skills to have your copy needs covered.

Yes. I always tell my clients that good photos help me to make your website even more appealing. I work closely with a local photographer who can come to your location to take that perfect shot. Alternatively I have access to photographers stock libraries that can deliver high-quality images for your website.

This is something we can discuss at the early stage of the project and factor into your budget and timescale.

Yes. Everything that I build will be owned by you. Most of my clients stay with me for the life of the website.

But if for any reason you decide you want to take your site to another hosting service and get another company to service it, I will happily assist you in making the transition as effortlessly and efficiently as possible. The website is yours after all, and I want you to take it wherever you go.

I can, and in fact, this is a very popular service. I understand that not all businesses have the time to update their website and for that reason, I offer a website support service where I handle updates on your behalf.

For £6.50/month I update to your website’s theme, plugins and WordPress version when security patches or extra functionality is released and create a monthly backup off-site.

Once a project is completed clients will often ask if they can retain my services on an ongoing basis. This can be anything from regular content updates to be producing other digital/print assets.

I offer long-term, retainer-based support for all clients to an agreed fee or my pay-as-you-go rate of £40/hour.

No. That is a promise. I don’t believe in hidden fees or unexpected bills. I am completely transparent about all costs before starting any projects, so you will know what you need to pay and when before the project begins.

No. I only support websites that I have fully built. I have this policy so that I can fully stand behind everything that I craft. There are issues of liability of multiple developers touching the same code over time.
